Editorial policy
News that helps farmers, in plain language, checked before we publish.
On this page
What we publish
Farming, mandis, weather, government schemes, new technology and farmers' own stories. Every story should make clear what it means for a farmer.
Where our information comes from
- Government orders, PIB and ministry releases, which we link in the story.
- Experts from agricultural universities, ICAR and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
- Direct conversations with farmers and mandis.
- Weather and warning data come from government and open sources. The full list is on the data sources page.
How we check stories
- Government figures, prices and scheme details are checked against the original source before we publish them.
- The story links to the order or release it is based on, so you can read it yourself.
- If a mistake is found after publication, it is fixed under our corrections policy.
Automated reports
Some reports, such as district weather updates, are built automatically from government and open data. Where that data comes from is listed on the data sources page.
Every such report is labelled 'Automated report, editor reviewed', both in story lists and on the story page. They are published under the name AgriVaani Editor.
Editor reviewed means an editor checks these reports. Mistakes in them are corrected the same way as in any other story.
Writers and bylines
Stories that carry the name of Akash, Vinayak, Adarsh, Raman or Pooja are written by our writers. Desk stories and automated reports are published as AgriVaani Editor. All writers are on the Our team page.
Corrections
When we find a mistake we correct the story and note at the end what changed. If you spot a mistake, send the story link and the correct information to info@kisaanu.com. The full process is in our corrections policy.
Advertising and sponsored content
- Anything published for payment is clearly labelled 'Sponsored'.
- Advertisers do not decide what we report.
- Weather and warning data come from government and open sources and are never sponsored.
