Corrections policy
When we get something wrong, we say so openly and fix it.
On this page
Corrections and updates
- Correction: when a fact in the story was wrong, such as a name, date, price or figure.
- Update: when new information is added, such as a new government order. The story then shows 'Updated' and the date at the top.
How a correction is shown
After a correction, a note is added at the end of the story. It says, with the date, what was published before and what the correct information is. For example:
Correction (date): this story earlier gave the wrong mandi name. The correct name is now shown above.
How to report a mistake
Email info@kisaanu.com with 'Correction' in the subject. Please include:
- the link to the story
- what is wrong
- the correct information, and its source if you have one
What happens next
- An editor checks what you told us against the original source. We may email you for more details.
- If the story was wrong, it is fixed and a correction note is added at the end.
- Mistakes in automated reports are fixed the same way (about automated reports).
Removed stories
A story that does not meet our editorial policy may be removed entirely. Its old link then says that the story was removed.
If a story has harmed you, write to our grievance officer.
