Accessibility
We want AgriVaani to work well for everyone, on weak networks and small phones too.
What we look after
- Large text: you can zoom pages, and they do not scroll sideways even on small phones.
- Screen readers: each page states its language (Hindi or English), photos have descriptions, and 'Skip to content' takes you past the menu to the story.
- Buttons: buttons and links are large enough to tap easily.
- Colour: text and background colours differ enough to read easily, even in sunlight.
- Motion: if 'reduce motion' is on in your phone, nothing on the page moves and the news ticker stays still.
- Keyboard: every page works with a keyboard, and the item you are on is clearly marked.
- Weak networks: pages are kept light. Once the app is installed, stories you have read open without internet.
What is still missing
- In some older stories the photo description is only the story's title.
- Not every story is in both languages. Each story is in the language it was written in.
